Understanding the Live Map

Your "Control Tower" for total asset visibility.

The Map View is the default home screen of BinCommand for a reason. In the Dumpster Rental business, knowing where your cans are is just as important as knowing who rented them.

Instead of reading through long lists of addresses, you can manage your entire logistics visually.

1. The Color Code (Status)

The pins on the map change color automatically based on the status of the order. Memorize these 4 colors to master your dispatch:

  • 🟢 Green (Active Rental):

    • The bin is currently at the customer's site.

    • It is within the agreed rental period (e.g., Day 1 to Day 7).

    • Action: No action needed. Everything is good.

  • 🔴 Red (Overdue):

    • The bin is at the customer's site, BUT the rental period has expired.

    • Action: Call the customer immediately! Ask for a pickup or charge an extension fee.

    • This is where BinCommand stops you from losing money on forgotten bins.

  • 🟡 Yellow (Scheduled):

    • A delivery or pickup is scheduled for today (or pending dispatch).

    • It means the driver has not completed the job yet.

    • Action: Monitor to ensure the driver gets there on time.

  • 🔵 Blue (Yard / Available):

    • Represents bins that are sitting in your yard, ready to be rented.

    • (Note: This requires specific asset tracking setup in Inventory).

2. Pin Interaction

The map is interactive. You don't need to leave the map to manage an order.

Click on any Pin to see:

  • Customer Name: Who has the bin?

  • Bin Size: Is it a 20yd or a 40yd?

  • Days on Site: How long has it been there? (e.g., "Day 5 of 7").

  • Quick Actions: Buttons to Schedule Pickup or Swap directly from the popup.

3. Filters & Views

If you have 100+ bins, the map can get crowded. Use the filters at the top of the map to focus:

  • Filter by Status: Uncheck "Green" to see only your "Red" (Overdue) bins so you can focus on collections.

  • Filter by Size: Want to see where all your 30-yarders are? Filter by size to find the nearest one to a new job site.
